Classical music and jazz have always mutually influenced each other in France. At the beginning of the 20th century, France was the first country in Europe to be introduced to jazz from America. It left its mark in the music of classical composers such as Saint-Saëns, Debussy and Ravel.
With swing, blues and improvisation, the New Jazz Orchestra puts its own spin on this French classical repertoire. Lean back and enjoy the revolutionary crossovers between the two genres.
New Jazz Orchestra
New Jazz Orchestra is an eighteen-piece big band led by world pianist Peter Beets. With his exuberant playing he makes the orchestra shine and lifts the musicians to the highest level. While the members of the band like to be challenged by their leader, it is an honor for himself to play with the top of the new Dutch jazz generation. Peter Beets is recognized both in Holland and New York as a phenomenal jazz pianist. He has played with such luminaries as Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis and Roy Hargrove.
