Heaven
Heaven is the third and final episode of The Blazers' successful musical theater trilogy. This completes the cycle and tells the story. In the special arrangement made for the NBE by Hans van der Heide, the seven adagios from Haydn's Die Sieben letzten Worte unseres Erlösers am Kreuze can be heard. Together with the biblical account of the Flood, the oratorio forms the basis for the story of a man who thought he was going to have a picnic today, but everything turns out differently as soon as the bus turns the corner. In this beautiful final performance, Moeyaert describes the last day of a man who has known death for years "like an elder brother.
