Cellist Maxim Calver wins Oranjewoud Festival Prize

On Thursday, March 14, at the Schiermonnikoog Festival, artistic director Yoram Ish-Hurwitz presented the Oranjewoud Festival Prize 2024 to British cellist Maxim Calver: "I was struck by Maxim's organic playing, honest musicality and natural ease with which he let Schumann's Fantasiestücke flow from his cello."

The Oranjewoud Festival Prize embodies the collaboration between the Schiermonnikoog Festival, which is all about developing young talent in its spring edition, and Oranjewoud Festival, which gives young talent a stage to gain experience. Maxim Calver will give an exclusive concert on June 1 for the Friends of Oranjewoud Festival. Are you curious? Then become a Friend!
