The participatory project “Unlimited Ensemble” has been a regular part of Oranjewoud Festival since 2018. A collective of musicians with and without (intellectual) disabilities rehearses on various musical instruments, learning to improvise together. The combination of classical or electronic music with improvisations using this sound material results in a unique ensemble, often with surprising outcomes.
The project is led by music therapist Stephan Mooibroek. He works from the vision that musical expression is a universal talent, regardless of physical or mental abilities.
