Lucie Horsch (2000) is an extraordinary multi-talent. By the age of twenty, her recorder playing had already earned her two Edison Awards and the prestigious Dutch Music Prize. In addition, she is active as a classical pianist and singer. At the Oranjewoud Festival, you can experience Lucie in all her versatility. In this concert, she performs as a recorder player alongside harpsichordist Olga Pashchenko, with whom she graduated in 2023 as a fortepianist.
In their programme, the musicians showcase the surprising versatility of their instruments, featuring Baroque music by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier and Georg Philipp Telemann, where French style, virtuosity, and sonic imagination take center stage. This is followed by a lyrical work by Greek composer Calliope Tsoupaki, written to enrich the repertoire for recorder and harpsichord.
Two contemporary solo pieces by Ligeti and Andriessen, inspired by minimal music, lead into the conclusion of their programme: the monumental flute sonata by Johann Sebastian Bach, a pinnacle of compositional mastery.
