Oranjewoud Festival likes to give space to young talent. To this end, the festival works closely with several festivals and competitions, including the Cello Biennale Amsterdam. Last fall, cellist Thomas Prechal won the corresponding National Cello Competition. 'Thomas' playing is intelligent with great attention to structure and form, he has a clear sound and good projection. His own composition was fascinating with a personal message. In short, a resonant performance," said jury chairman Sven Arne Tepl. Thomas also received the most votes from the audience, winning the Audience Award.

At this exclusive Friends' Concert, he will perform with pianist Jorian van Nee. Together they will play works by Leoš Janáček, Johannes Brahms and Thomas' own work.
