Solar is a sound installation by composer and artist duo Strijbos & Van Rijswijk and visual artist Marc van Vliet that uniquely combines sustainability and art. A large number of small and medium-sized solar panels are scattered near the Orangery of Landgoed Oranjestein. In the middle is an object reminiscent of a large sundial. It forms a resting point where you can sit and listen.
The solar panels have a dual function: they provide the energy that brings the artwork to life but at the same time form individual sources of sound. Each panel brings out its own singing voice, all the panels together a harmonious chorus. While you as a visitor walk in between or sit down near one of the panels, you are immersed in a spatial composition, performed by many invisible choral voices and strings.
Solar is more than a performance; it is an interactive symphony, a perfect symbiosis of sustainability and artistic expression that enchants audiences in a unique experience.
