The night appeals to the imagination. It can bring peace or sow turmoil, be a source of inspiration or melancholy. In "Claire de Nuit," cellist Florianne Remme and pianist Caspar Vos explore the many faces of the night: from its dreamy silence to its compelling fantasies.

The concert opens with Léon Boëllmann's Cello Sonata, a work in which the night is still young. Warm and lyrical, the music unfolds like an evening of stories, with elegant melodies and a touch of drama.

Then Henriette Bosmans takes us into the hushed depths of the night with Nuit Calme. This poetic work exudes an atmosphere of solitary contemplation, in which the boundaries between dream and reality blur. It is a moment of pure introspection, a whisper of the night.

Finally, dusk breaks in Francis Poulenc's Cello Sonata. Here darkness and light collide in unpredictable ways. Poulenc paints night not as a time of rest, but as a time of passion and conflicting emotions. From playful, almost wanton outbursts to melodies infused with melancholy, this sonata shows that in the night, dawn is always near.
