The Oranjewoud Festival Foundation aims to keep high-quality classical music alive and accessible in its full spectrum for the widest possible audience by organizing publicly accessible concerts and other (performing) arts activities at indoor and outdoor locations in and around the municipality of Heerenveen.

The Oranjewoud Festival organizes an annual open-air festival focused on classical music at indoor and outdoor locations in and around the Oranjewoud Park Landscape. In addition, it develops activities in the areas of talent development, cultural education, and participation.

Income is generated through subsidies from the national government (via the Performing Arts Fund), the province of Fryslân, and the municipality of Heerenveen, as well as contributions from private funds, sponsors, and donors, and through ticket sales, catering, collaborations, and bequests. Each year, a written report on activities and expenditures is submitted to the authorities in the form of a board report, reviewed and approved by an independent accountant. After each festival edition, a written accountability report is provided to the funding organizations, including an accountant’s statement where required.
