General vision

We believe that art—music in particular—constitutes an essential part of society because of both its intrinsic value and the instrumental value it can provide. Art and culture contribute to an inclusive and connected society in which everyone has a place, regardless of cultural background, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, educational level, or age.

Artistic vision

Tradition and innovation in classical music are not opposites but two sides of the same coin. While the wealth of classical repertoire built up over the centuries contributes to its traditional image, innovation is the very essence that has kept classical music alive and evolving—from Monteverdi to AI. Classical music is in a constant state of transition.

Mission

Oranjewoud Festival aims to let people hear, see, and feel that classical music is alive—infinitely diverse and valuable to everyone. That is why we are committed, in a variety of ways, to keeping the genre current, relevant, and meaningful in the twenty-first century.
