The very first notes heard at Oranjewoud Festival 2026 come from the ÁMÀL Ensemble, an Amsterdam-based band of seven young musicians from Syria, Siberia, Mexico, and France. Ámàl means “hope” in Arabic, and that is exactly what the band conveys: an eclectic mix of Arabic melodies, uplifting Latin grooves, and free improvisation.
Their repertoire holds a world of stories—of departure and arrival, homesickness, hope, and longing. Music that makes you forget borders and connects different worlds.
