Two masterful musicians in a surprisingly versatile programme. Percussionist Christoph Sietzen and cellist Johannes Moser take you on a musical journey that leaves room for both tradition and innovation.
From the serene, moving sounds of Osvaldo Golijov’s Mariel to the baroque elegance of Vivaldi and Handel’s timeless Passacaglia, this programme explores the richness of the repertoire in a rare and intriguing instrumentation. With the contemporary work Beziehungsweise by Ingo Ingensand and the rhythmically sparkling energy of Andy Akiho’s 21, the concert takes on a distinctly modern character, full of colour and dynamism.
The combination of cello and percussion creates a distinctive sound world in which lyricism and rhythm are in constant dialogue. Virtuosity, intimacy, and imagination merge into a concert that is both captivating and surprising.
This concert forms part of the artistic residency and guest curatorship of cellist Johannes Moser.
