In search of the meaning of home, composer and director Robin Coops travels the world as a modern pilgrim. In The Journals, he shares and sings about the many musical surreal stories he has acquired on his travels. Thus he encounters bodies full of mouths, musical beats that seduce tourists into an unstoppable dance, and rivers that whisper their ancient spells.
In March, Robin will hike to Santiago de Compostella. The field recordings and 3D motion and image recordings he makes there are the building blocks for the new compositions, culminating in a mixed-reality performance. In addition to allowing the musical stories to be listened to in virtual reality, this evening he will open his suitcase full of audio and video samples to invite the audience on an intimate a journey between moving and standing still.
