With Romani! Pynarello takes you on an adventurous musical journey inspired by the ancient ways of the Roma. The music begins in India, where the roots of Roma culture lie, and travels through the Middle East to Europe. Along the way, this musical stream has left deep traces in the music of the Balkans and Southern Europe, from Romanian folk songs to fiery Spanish flamenco and Gypsy jazz.

For this program, a number of top musicians have been invited from who showcase the richness of these traditions. Vasile Nedea plays with Romanian fire on the accordion and cimbalom, Indian tabla player Niti Ranjan brings sophisticated rhythms to life, and world-renowned gypsy jazz guitarist Faifie Reinhardt adds his iconic swing. Together with the musicians of Pynarello, these artists engage in a groundbreaking dialogue.

In addition to traditional Roma influences, classical works influenced by this music will be played, including compositions by Telemann, Mozart and Haydn. These composers were inspired by the power and expressiveness of Gypsy music, and their pieces take on a new dimension in Romani! combined with the lively and unpredictable sounds of the Roma tradition.
