The Loek van den Berg Quintet will take you on a journey and keep you on the edge of your seat with storytelling compositions and authentic improvisations. The ensemble's music is different from what you expect and will not leave you indifferent. You can experience this during their live performances, which overflow with passion and enthusiasm.

Last September, the quintet won the prestigious Edison Jazz for its debut album Wayfarer. The compositions take you along the various journeys Loek has made in recent years. Landscapes and influences from other musical cultures have therefore been the inspiration for the album.  

Over the years, the quintet has developed its own recognizable playing style and color, characterized by Loek's melodic compositions. Each player has his own style and sound, which emerge in them. There is a lot of room for own interpretation, improvisation and interaction of the ensemble members.
