For violinist and viola player Michael Barenboim, son of legendary pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim, the musical world in all its aspects is a constant challenge. For him, it opens new perspectives on pieces from the great repertoire of the past and future. Especially for Oranjewoud, he put together a French program with his partner, pianist Natalia Pegarkova-Barenboim, and electronics specialist Gilbert Nouno. In it, the trio combines music by Pierre Boulez, with whom Barenboim and Nouno have developed an intense artistic relationship and personal friendship, with late romantic works by Ernest Chausson, Henri Vieuxtemps, Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Ravel.

Barenboim is founder and concertmaster of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, in which a proportionate number of Israeli and Arab musicians play side by side. He also teaches at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin. He has soloed with such leading orchestras as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic and has given recitals in the world's most important venues, from Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall New York. Natalia Pegarkova, an award-winning pianist, is known for her acclaimed solo performances and her passion for romantic chamber music. Gilbert Nouno is a composer, artist and multidisciplinary researcher influenced by the practice of digital and traditional arts. His focus is on musical research between man and machine for contemporary and interdisciplinary creation ranging from theater to dance.
