Come and discover the most harmonious shelter for insects you have ever seen! A real concert grand piano, donated to us especially for this purpose by Piano's Maene, is undergoing a special and unique transformation: it is being transformed into an insect hotel. The sounds of music now give way to the gentle humming of nature.
Oranjewoud Festival is grateful for the special nature in which it is a guest and treats it with care. The insect hotel is a call to visitors to look at nature with new eyes and realize how every insect, no matter how small, is invaluable in maintaining the natural balance. Every insect, like every tone, is part of the symphony called nature.
The "wing for wings" has been in the Pop-Up in the Sieversstraat in Heerenveen for the past period, where students of Aeres VMBO and their green teacher Gerard Tamminga and several volunteers helped to convert it. It will be placed on the festival grounds in Oranjewoud this week.
Many thanks to everyone who helped make this special project possible. We hope to be able to give this beautiful insect hotel a permanent home after the festival.
