Shane van Neerden wins Dutch Classical Talent 2024

US-based Dutch pianist Shane van Neerden convincingly won the Dutch Classical Award 2024 last Sunday, May 12. With this he concluded a trajectory that included a tour of fourteen important Dutch classical venues. Before that, he developed the performance Lantaarns which included a new composition commission for composer Rick van Veldhuizen. The jury praised his rich musical richness, daring and imagination. According to NRC reviewer Marnix Bilderbeek, his velvet touch, sensitive phrasing and warm color palette made him a deserved winner. In addition to a place in the gallery of honor of DCT winners, Shane will receive a cash prize of €10,000.

Shane is part of the Toonzetters Ensemble coached by Oranjewoud Festival , which will make its debut at the festival on Friday, May 31. The ensemble stems from the Toonzetters project produced by Oranjewoud Festival .
