Artist duo Jurjen Alkema and Andrea Dröes bring nature and culture into dialogue with [tic], a site composition and light art in one that makes both the chaotic and geometrically ordered features of nature audible and visible.

The ingenious construction of the nearly 200-year-old concert accordion consists of about 10,000 parts. The instrument has a wide dynamic range and can produce a wealth of orchestral sounds, enhanced by its "stereo character." Listen for its bright tone in melody lines, with a malleable timbre like a wind instrument. Vincent's choices in registration and the use of bellows techniques for air supply create essential and characteristic differences from the accordion as it is known from the popular repertoire.

The accordion's versatility and Vincent's chameleon-like qualities are also expressed when playing together with other instruments. Together with Quirine Viersen's cello, the lyricism of Saint-Saëns, Stravinsky and Pärt resounds. In Mahler's orchestral songs, the accordion breathes like a "one-man orchestra" alongside Esther Kuiper's voice. Within the ensemble Astori Amsterdam, the accordion fulfills different roles: sometimes as piano, sometimes as bandoneon.
