Get up with the birds and greet the new day with the music of Bach. Percussionist Sytze Pruiksma and cellist Geneviève Verhage team up for a sparkling concert. What they share is a boundless love of both music and the natural world. In addition to playing the cello, Geneviève explores the Dutch flora and fauna on her old racing bicycle, and Sytze travels the world as a birder.
While the expansive glass walls of the museum offer views to the awakening of the natural surroundings, Sytze and Geneviève bring a set list of duets to the highest level in which the ‘Bach Suite for Cello No. 2’ is framed by compositions of birdsong that explore the interfaces of music and nature.
After the performance, the musicians and the audience will have breakfast together at long tables. Morning has broken…
