British composer Richard Ayres pays a unique tribute to Anton Bruckner. Based on his Seventh Symphony, he wrote new work, which was premiered at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ in September 2024. Richard Ayres used sound recordings of "things Bruckner touched" to create an intimate sound biography. At Oranjewoud, this work will be performed again by ensemble Asko|Schönberg, the groundbreaking ensemble for new music. Just before that, the young composer Primo Ish-Hurwitz will enter into conversation with Richard.

Richard Ayres has been working in the Netherlands for decades. He previously won the prestigious Matthijs Vermeulen Prize. Together with Asko|Schönberg, Ayres knows how to give Bruckner's inspiration a distinctive sound.
