3Violas

3Violas is an innovative trio that has been creating its own music since 2015. Geerten, Hessel and Floris experiment with endless sound textures. The result is whisper-soft and exuberant. Nature is indispensable in this, both as a source of inspiration and as a stage.

To arrive at new music, 3Violas combines sensory perception with technological ingenuity. For example, sap streams of trees are measured with sensors and synthesizers and transformed into sound. The debut album Fauna (2021) is an ode to nature, bringing together cinematic melodies and minimalist rhythms.

This has not gone unnoticed. Performances at leading festivals Down The Rabbit Hole, Amsterdam Dance Event and the Grachtenfestival and in the iconic venues of Paradiso, Het Concertgebouw and TivoliVredenburg have earned 3Violas a permanent place in the Dutch music scene. Also in its collaboration with 24Classics, the ensemble is looking for new ways to experience music.

In 2025, 3Violas will celebrate their 10th anniversary with a brand new album and program further exploring the boundaries of their musical universe. Expect a sensory experience centered on experimentation and natural sounds.
